Bloomsburg, PA, USA—May 28, 2024 For the first time ever, the Green Cabin Alliance and SEKISUI KYDEX will share space at stand 5D40 during the 2024 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) held in Hamburg, Germany. The Green Cabin Alliance is a cross-industry group within the aircraft interiors supply chain, leading discussions to address challenges and promote a more sustainable cabin interiors industry. Expo goers will have the opportunity to visit the Green Cabin Alliance Lounge, inside stand 5D40, to learn more about their mission for a circular economy in aviation interiors by utilizing sustainable and recyclable materials.

The Green Cabin Alliance supports members in designing for sustainability by considering product lifecycle and sustainable material selection. They collaborate with leaders throughout the aviation industry to help them make more informed decisions while guiding them through the shift of modern environmental expectations. At its core, the Green Cabin Alliance is forging a path toward sustainable manufacturing by creating standards and raising awareness of sustainable material selections in the industry.

With major airlines committing to Net Zero Emissions by 2050, making changes now towards a more sustainable future for the industry is critical. The Green Cabin Alliance was formed to help guide the industry along this journey. It is committed to bringing the aircraft interiors industry together around a shared mission to reduce the environmental impact of aircraft cabin interiors through transparency, creating common language, and improving reporting of carbon footprint data throughout the industry.

The Green Cabin Alliance and SEKISUI KYDEX are working to develop new partnerships and collaborations within and beyond the aviation community to find solutions. Elina Kopola, Founder & Director of Green Cabin Alliance, said, "As CMF designers, it's important that we embrace new tools to truly analyze and compare the environmental effects of the material we specify. There is so much to absorb about sustainability that it sometimes feels like learning a new language or measuring system. It's necessary for our industry to take the next step towards a sustainable supply chain."

By sharing information, knowledge, and best practices, the industry has the opportunity to contribute to a circular and sustainable aviation industry that aligns with the growing demand for environmentally responsible travel.

·         GCA and SEKISUI KYDEX are shaping the future together.
