USA. Bloomsburg, PA—March 26, 2019— SEKISUI SPI launches KYDEX® FST, a polycarbonate thermoplastic sheet for production of aircraft interior components.
KYDEX® FST is an advanced polymer that has the colour creation capabilities of SEKISUI SPI’s designLab®. Its wide processing window and ease of thermoforming makes it ideal for complex parts, and it is available in custom colours not typically available in high performance polycarbonate products. The addition of KYDEX® FST to SEKISUI SPI’s aviation portfolio expands its offering of thermoplastic materials for every interior application.
In addition to availability in a wide range of colours and effects, this specialty PC-copolymer sheet is produced using SEKISUI SPI’s Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) process, ensuring small minimum order quantities and the short lead times expected in this demanding market.

KYDEX® FST is formulated to meet all OEM requirements for aircraft interior components. It delivers excellent formability and a sophisticated finish while meeting the flammability and smoke development requirements outlined in Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) 25.853 paragraphs (a) and (d) and the toxicity requirements for Airbus (ABD0031) and Boeing (BSS7239).
