Local Celebrity Joins People & Culture Department at SEKISUI Polymer Innovations, LLC
The United Way of Columbia and Montour Counties, Columbia-Montour Family Health, Bloomsburg Area School District: This is not simply a list of important organizations in Central Pennsylvania. It is also an impressive track record for Bryne Lewis, SEKISUI SPI’s new People and Culture Development Specialist.
Community leader, oil painter, writer, and adjunct professor are some of the other roles Bryne fulfills. Her community involvement, teaching background, and creativity were exactly the qualities needed for this new role. Now, as People and Culture Development Specialist, Bryne’s expertise in education, empathy, and enthusiasm are a perfect match.
Most companies don’t hire someone based on their empathy, especially in manufacturing. Seen as efficient and lean, but sometimes lackluster in supporting individuality and expression, manufacturing environments are not often pictured as spaces where creativity and camaraderie thrive. SEKISUI SPI is proud to be changing this perception, and hopes to transform even more with Bryne’s support.
“I love connecting with people and listening to their stories. I thrive on seeing people do what they excel at and succeed. Facilitating ‘aha!’ moments is the best part of helping others,” said Bryne when asked about her new role as People and Culture Development Specialist.
She’ll be helping SEKISUI SPI invest in its people by working with all employees to assess training opportunities, improve onboarding experiences, and focus on employee satisfaction. Sharon Haverlak, Vice President of People & Culture stated, “Bryne’s exceptional community involvement will help our employees be better servants of the environment. Her background in education and great project management skills make her a natural leader and great public speaker. I’m looking forward to Bryne’s creative ideas to enhance the employee experience.”
Bryne will also help SEKISUI SPI continue its strong investment in the surrounding communities, particularly with partners in education such as, Bloomsburg University, the Pennsylvania College of Technology, Penn State University and its Learning Factory, and local high schools and vocational-technical schools.
