SEKISUI Polymer Innovations, LLC, manufacturer of KYDEX® and ALLEN® Thermoplastics, has won the Crystal Cabin Award for Materials and Components for their Infused Imaging™ technology.
Infused Imaging™ is a proprietary technology that has made bespoke pattern-in-product possible for the first time in thermoplastics sheet extrusion.
Jym Kauffman, designLab™ director, comments, “It’s an honor to receive this award, especially with such formidable competition in our category. We’re privileged to bring this technology to the industry – we’ve just touched on the possibilities it can bring to passenger experience.”

More on Infused Imaging™
Traditionally, design or pattern is achieved in thermoplastic sheet by adding material to its surface or by printing on the surface. Infused Imaging™ integrates design into any KYDEX® Thermoplastic sheet product without the challenges capped and printed materials bring (delamination and peeling).
Furthermore, KYDEX® sheets with Infused Imaging™ retain the chemical and flammability properties of the KYDEX® sheet polymer, so they continue to meet compliance standards. It is the ultimate in customization without the compromise of capped or printed solutions. Infused imaging was first introduced to the aviation interiors market at the Aircraft Interiors Expo, Hamburg in 2015.
